GINEPRI TO REPLACE INJURED RODDICK IN 2018 INVESCO SERIES QQQ FINALE AT USTA NATONAL CAMPUS IN ORLANDO

Former U.S. Open semifinalist Robby Ginepri will replace an injured Andy Roddick in the Champions Challenge, the 10th and final event on the 2018 Invesco Series QQQ tennis circuit to be held this Thursday, December 6 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.

The event, a celebration of American tennis legends, is a one-night tournament also featuring former world No. 1 and two–time French and Australian Open champion Jim Courier, former U.S. Davis Cup star and former world No. 4 James Blake and former U.S. Davis Cup star and 2004 Olympic silver medalist Mardy Fish.

Ginepri will face Fish in Thursday’s second one-set semifinal match, following the night’s first-semifinal match between Courier and Blake. The winners of the two semifinal matches will then play a one-set championship match. The event will be played on the hard court stadium at the USTA National Campus and will start at 7 pm.

Ginepri was a semifinalist at the 2005 U.S. Open and was a member of the 2004 U.S. Davis Cup team. He now works with the USTA Player Development as a coach and recently served under former U.S. Davis Cup captain Jim Courier as a Davis Cup coach.

Roddick was forced to withdraw from the event with a right shoulder injury.

“I’m very disappointed that I won’t be able to compete at this inaugural Invesco Series QQQ event at the USTA National Campus with Jim, Mardy and James,” said Roddick. I look forward to being back in action next year as I am very excited to play in front of all the fans at the USTA National Campus, the beautiful new home facility for American tennis”

The Invesco Series QQQ is the North American tennis circuit for champion tennis players over the age of 30 and features other tennis legends including John McEnroe, Tommy Haas, Lleyton Hewitt and Mark Philippoussis. Through nine events in 2008, Blake has clinched the season-long points standing by virtue of tournament victories in Winston-Salem, N.C., New Haven, Conn., and Houston.

Each Invesco Series QQQ event features special VIP experiences, including hit-with-the-pros opportunities and special back-stage access. All ticket, experience and event information can be found at www.InvescoSeries.com
